Reasoned disagreement in public
The Delhi Union is built to reward argument, clarity, and intellectual seriousness over speed, theatre, or slogan.

We design conversations that slow things down, test claims properly, and make disagreement legible for the audience.
Support structures may exist around the platform, but programming decisions remain separate from outside influence.
We founded this platform in January 2026 with a simple mission: to hold serious discussions that prioritise reasoning over performance. In a media environment shaped by speed, optics, and confrontation, political debate often rewards assertion rather than argument. Positions are stated more often than they are examined, and emphasis is placed on delivery rather than durability.
We believe democratic politics depends on sustained, public disagreement conducted in good faith. Argument is not a failure of unity, but a condition of clarity. Our debates are structured to slow discussion down, require ideas to be defended, and surface differences that are often obscured by consensus or theatrics.
We are not here to tell people what to think. We exist to create the conditions under which thinking becomes possible.
We disclose our funding, affiliations, and editorial independence. All of our charitable foundation relationships are public and clearly stated.
We assume speakers and audiences are capable of reasoned disagreement. We don't use bad-faith framing or attempt to embarrass participants.
We believe democracy is strengthened when debate is examined and judged by the people, which we uphold by making the debates judged through audience voting.
We publish criticism, corrections, and responses. If we get something wrong, we say so. If speakers misrepresent facts, we note it.
A public charitable trust driving long-term social impact through policy, research, and targeted interventions. Their work includes providing vulnerable populations access to welfare schemes and ration packages, empowering women through education and livelihood and conducting afforestation drives.
While we receive operational support from both foundations, editorial decisions—including speaker selection, debate topics, and content moderation—are made independently by our editorial team. The Foundation is listed as an affiliate on our public register, and does not hold decision-making authority over programming.
